General Assistant Food- Highfield Garden World

Hours: 18 hours per week – Monday, Wednesday and Saturday

Do you enjoy working with customers and being part of a busy team? We're looking for a friendly and reliable General Assistant to join our Food Department at Highfield Garden World.

This is a varied role where you'll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the department, helping to create a welcoming shopping experience and ensuring our food displays are always looking their best.

You'll be someone who enjoys getting stuck in, takes pride in their work and is happy to help wherever needed, whether that's assisting customers, replenishing stock or keeping the department clean, tidy and well presented.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing friendly and helpful customer service, making sure customers feel welcome and are able to find what they're looking for.

• Replenishing shelves and ensuring products are well stocked and attractively displayed.

• Checking dates, rotating stock and maintaining good stock presentation.

• Helping with deliveries, putting stock away and keeping storage areas organised.

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the department.

• Supporting with general day-to-day duties to ensure the department runs smoothly.

• Working closely with the wider team and helping colleagues when needed.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a friendly, approachable manner and enjoys dealing with customers.

• Takes pride in keeping things clean, tidy and well presented.

• Is reliable, organised and has a good eye for detail.

• Can work well as part of a team but is also happy to use their own initiative.

• Has a positive attitude and is willing to get involved in all aspects of the role.

• Is comfortable working in a busy retail environment.

Previous retail or customer service experience would be beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
