Outdoor Leisure & Christmas Manager – Newbridge Nurseries

Location: Newbridge Nurseries

Hours: Full-time, 42.5 hours per week, including alternate weekends

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Newbridge Nurseries for an Outdoor Leisure & Christmas Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of this key retail department.

The Role

As Outdoor Leisure & Christmas Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful operation of the department, overseeing stock, merchandising, sales performance and team development. You’ll ensure the department is presented to the highest standard throughout the year, with a particular focus on delivering a fantastic seasonal offer during peak trading periods.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Outdoor Leisure & Christmas department, ensuring high standards across all areas.

• Drive sales and profitability through effective stock management, merchandising and commercial awareness.

• Oversee ordering, stock availability and the management of slow-moving lines.

• Create inspiring displays that showcase products and maximise sales opportunities.

• Lead, motivate and develop the team, ensuring clear communication and effective task allocation.

• Deliver excellent customer service, supporting customers with product advice, ordering and carry-to-car service where required.

• Monitor departmental performance and take action to improve sales, standards and efficiency.

• Ensure POS materials are accurate and up to date, following company guidelines and Head Office direction.

• Maintain a clean, safe and well-presented department.

• Manage seasonal transitions and ensure the department is ready for key trading periods, particularly Christmas.

• Take responsibility for opening and closing procedures and ensure company policies are followed.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• An experienced retail manager or supervisor ready to take the next step.

• Commercially minded, with an understanding of stock management, merchandising and driving sales.

• Confident leading, motivating and developing a team.

• Passionate about outdoor leisure, Christmas retail or seasonal merchandising.

• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities in a busy retail environment.

• Customer-focused, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.

• Flexible and comfortable working alternate weekends and during peak seasonal periods.
