Project Manager
Location: Centre based, with travel to other Blue Diamond Garden Centres across the UK as required
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced and organised Project Manager to take responsibility for managing development, refurbishment and shopfitting projects across Blue Diamond, from initial concept through to completion.
This is a hands-on role covering the full project lifecycle. You’ll be involved from the initial site survey and design stages, through to producing CAD drawings, preparing specifications and tender information, managing contractors and overseeing projects while works are underway.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.
The Role
As Project Manager, you’ll manage a variety of projects from start to finish, taking responsibility for the planning, design, tendering, procurement and delivery of each project.
You’ll carry out site surveys, produce CAD drawings and tender drawings, specify works for contractors and manage the tender process from obtaining quotations through to agreeing costs.
Once a project is underway, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day project management, liaising with contractors, monitoring progress, managing costs and resolving any issues that arise. You’ll also be involved in purchasing materials and shopfitting requirements, as well as managing project invoicing.
Key Responsibilities

Manage development, refurbishment and shopfitting projects from initial concept through to completion.

Carry out site surveys and assess existing buildings and spaces.

Produce accurate CAD drawings and plans.

Create tender drawings and supporting project documentation.

Prepare specifications and detailed scopes of work for contractors.

Manage the tender process, including issuing tender information and obtaining and reviewing quotations.

Review contractor quotes and costs and make recommendations where appropriate.

Manage projects while construction and installation works are ongoing.

Liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal teams throughout each project.

Coordinate contractors and manage day-to-day project queries and issues.

Monitor project progress, ensuring works remain on schedule and to the required standard.

Purchase materials and shopfitting requirements.

Raise and manage purchase orders.

Process and monitor project invoices and ensure costs are accurately recorded.

Monitor project budgets and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain accurate project records, drawings, specifications and documentation.

Provide regular updates on project progress, costs and any issues.

Travel to Blue Diamond Garden Centres across the UK as required.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who is confident managing projects from initial design through to completion.
You’ll be organised, commercially aware and comfortable dealing directly with contractors and suppliers. You’ll have a good technical understanding, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
You’ll also have:

Previous experience in project management, ideally within construction, property, shopfitting, retail or a similar environment.

Experience managing projects from start to finish.

Experience producing CAD drawings and plans.

Experience carrying out site surveys.

Experience preparing specifications, scopes of work and tender drawings.

Experience managing tender processes and reviewing contractor quotations.

Good understanding of project costs, budgets and invoicing.

Experience managing contractors and overseeing works on site.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Good Microsoft Office skills.

A practical and proactive approach to problem solving.

Willingness to travel between Blue Diamond Garden Centres when required.
