Location: Barton Grange Garden Centre
Contract: Temporary Seasonal Contract – weekends throughout November and December
Hours: 12 hours per week – 6 hours every Saturday and 6 hours every Sunday
Overtime: Possibility of additional hours during Christmas late nights

Barton Grange Garden Centre is looking for two friendly and reliable General Assistants to join our team for the busy Christmas season.

You will support the tills and assist customers with carry-out services, helping to ensure a smooth and positive shopping experience during one of the busiest times of the year.

This is a customer-facing role that is varied and fast-paced, ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and providing great customer service.

About the Role

As a Seasonal General Assistant, you will provide front-of-house support, working across tills and assisting customers with carry-out duties. You will help maintain high service standards and contribute to a welcoming store environment.

The role is a temporary seasonal contract, working weekends throughout November and December, with the possibility of additional overtime during Christmas late nights.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Handle queries, purchases and returns efficiently
• Support customers with carrying out purchases
• Maintain a welcoming and organised shopping environment

Till Operations

• Accurately process cash, card and other payments
• Assist with queue management during busy periods
• Ensure tills and surrounding areas are clean, organised and presentable

General Duties

• Support the wider team with store operations as required
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Maintain awareness of security and loss prevention standards

About You

We're looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team.

You'll ideally be:

• Friendly, approachable and professional
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible attitude
• Able to work efficiently in a busy retail environment
• A strong team player with a positive approach
• Available to work every Saturday and Sunday throughout November and December
• Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
