Catering Assistant / Barista- Percy Throwers Garden Centre

Are you friendly, enthusiastic and enjoy working in a busy café or restaurant environment? Percy Thrower's Garden Centre is looking for a Catering Assistant / Barista to join our welcoming team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, preparing great drinks and food, and being part of a friendly team. You'll play an important role in creating a great experience for our customers, from serving their favourite coffee to making sure the restaurant is clean, welcoming and running smoothly.

Location: Percy Thrower's Garden Centre
Hours: 30 hours per week + overtime, including some weekend work

The Role

As a Catering Assistant / Barista, you'll work across our restaurant and café, supporting the team to deliver excellent food, drinks and customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving a range of hot and cold drinks, including coffees
• Providing friendly and efficient service to customers
• Taking customer orders and processing payments
• Supporting with food preparation and serving food when required
• Maintaining high standards of presentation across the restaurant and café
• Clearing and cleaning tables and keeping customer areas tidy
• Keeping the coffee and service areas clean, organised and well stocked
• Assisting with washing up and general kitchen duties
• Replenishing stock and helping with deliveries
• Following food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures
• Supporting the wider catering team during busy periods

About You

We're looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and enjoys working with people in a busy environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous barista, café, restaurant or catering experience is desirable but not essential
• A genuine passion for great customer service
• A friendly and approachable manner
• A positive, can-do attitude
• The ability to work efficiently during busy periods
• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
• The ability to work well as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• A flexible and reliable approach to work
• Willingness to work some weekends as part of your regular working pattern

If you don't have barista experience but are enthusiastic and willing to learn, we'd still love to hear from you.
