Plant Area General Assistant- Springfields Garden Centre

Springfields Garden Centre is looking for an enthusiastic Plant Area General Assistant to join our friendly team. If you have previous horticultural experience, a passion for plants, enjoy working outdoors, and take pride in delivering excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

Working within our busy Plant Area, you'll help create an inspiring shopping experience by caring for our plants, maintaining high presentation standards, and providing knowledgeable and friendly service to our customers.

Location: Springfields Garden Centre
Hours: 20 hours per week
Contract: Permanent | Alternate Weekend working required

About the Role

Working within our busy Plant Area, you'll support the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring it is well stocked, beautifully presented and maintained to the high standards our customers expect.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be involved in everything from watering and caring for plants to merchandising seasonal displays and helping customers choose the right plants and products for their gardens.

Previous horticultural or plant area experience is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service, offering knowledgeable advice and assistance to customers.
• Water, care for and maintain the health and quality of plants.
• Replenish stock and create attractive, inspiring plant displays.
• Assist with deliveries, stock movement and merchandising.
• Keep the Plant Area clean, tidy, safe and well presented at all times.
• Ensure accurate pricing and point-of-sale signage is displayed.
• Support seasonal changes and promotions within the Plant Area.
• Work with the wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

About You

• Previous horticultural or plant area experience is essential.
• A genuine passion for plants and horticulture.
• Good knowledge of plants and an interest in developing your knowledge further.
• Friendly, approachable and enjoys helping customers.
• Happy working both indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• A positive, reliable team player with a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable working in a busy retail environment.
• Available to work weekends.
