Pet & Wild Bird General Assistant- Grosvenor Garden Centre

Location: Grosvenor Garden Centre
Hours: 25 hours per week including alternate weekend working

About the Role

We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic General Assistant to join our Pet & Wild Bird team at Grosvenor Garden Centre.

This is a customer-facing role where you’ll help customers find the right products for their pets and garden wildlife, while making sure the department is well presented, fully stocked and ready for customers.

You’ll be part of a busy team, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, has a genuine interest in animals and wildlife, and takes pride in providing great customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing friendly and helpful advice to customers across the Pet & Wild Bird department
• Helping customers choose suitable products for their pets and garden birds
• Replenishing stock and keeping shelves and displays well presented
• Receiving and putting away deliveries
• Checking stock levels and helping maintain availability
• Pricing and merchandising products
• Keeping the department clean, tidy and safe
• Supporting seasonal promotions and changing displays
• Working closely with the wider Gardening team to provide a great customer experience
• Helping with other general duties around the department when required

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, approachable and confident speaking to customers
• Genuinely interested in pets, animals and/or garden wildlife
• Reliable and happy working as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a busy retail environment
• Hands-on and willing to get involved
• Organised and able to keep on top of stock and presentation
• Flexible, including being available to work weekends

Previous retail or garden centre experience would be useful, but it’s not essential. What matters most is your attitude, willingness to learn and passion for helping customers.
