The Opportunity

Looking for a weekend role in a lively, customer-focused environment? We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Barton Grange Garden Centre.

Working across our restaurant and café areas, you’ll help us deliver great food, friendly service and a welcoming experience for our customers. It’s a busy environment, particularly at weekends, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team and getting stuck in.

The Role

As a Weekend Catering Assistant, you’ll play an important part in the day-to-day running of our restaurant. You’ll work alongside the wider catering team to provide friendly and efficient service while keeping our high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Duties will include:

• Welcoming and serving customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Taking orders and processing payments accurately.
• Preparing hot and cold drinks, including barista-style beverages.
• Serving food and drinks efficiently.
• Supporting the team during busy service periods.
• Keeping the restaurant and service areas clean, tidy and well presented.
• Following food hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Helping wherever needed to ensure the smooth running of the restaurant.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working with customers and providing great service.
• Is friendly, approachable and positive.
• Is reliable and committed to working weekends.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Can stay calm and organised during busy periods.
• Takes pride in doing a job well.
• Is flexible and happy to get involved across different areas of the restaurant.
• Previous catering or hospitality experience is desirable, but full training will be provided.
• Barista experience would be an advantage.
