Temporary Outdoor Leisure & Christmas General Assistant- Brambridge Garden Centre

Hours: 30 hours per week, including weekend working
Contract: Temporary (August 2026 – December 2026)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Outdoor Leisure & Christmas Department on a temporary basis.

Working across two of our most popular departments, you'll play an important role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. From creating eye-catching displays and merchandising seasonal ranges to helping customers find the right products, this is a varied and rewarding role during one of our busiest trading periods.

The Role

As a Temporary Outdoor Leisure & Christmas General Assistant, you'll help ensure the department is well stocked, beautifully presented and maintained to the high standards our customers expect.

Working alongside the department team, you'll support with merchandising, stock replenishment, customer service and the day-to-day running of the department, helping us throughout the busy Outdoor Leisure and Christmas seasons.

Key Responsibilities

• Create attractive and inspiring displays to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and shop floor presentation.
• Assist with the movement, assembly and merchandising of outdoor furniture, barbecues, outdoor living products and Christmas ranges.
• Provide a carry-to-car service and assist with customer deliveries where required.
• Deliver excellent customer service and provide product advice.
• Process sales accurately using the EPOS system and handle customer enquiries professionally.
• Replenish stock and ensure products are correctly merchandised and priced.
• Print and display POS material throughout the department.
• Follow action points from reports and departmental floor walks.
• Assist with stock takes and seasonal department changes.
• Support promotional events and busy seasonal trading periods.
• Work closely with colleagues to keep the department organised, safe and commercially presented.
• Support the Department Manager with the day-to-day running of the department.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Enjoys working as part of a team.
• Has a positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
• Takes pride in maintaining high retail standards.
• Has a keen eye for detail and product presentation.
• Is comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting and moving furniture, outdoor leisure products and Christmas stock.
• Is reliable, flexible and happy to support the team during busy trading periods.
• Has good organisational skills and can prioritise tasks effectively.
• Previous retail experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
