We're looking for a Garden Features & Containers Department Manager to lead one of the most visually exciting departments at Grosvenor Garden Centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded retail manager to take ownership of a key department, combining creative merchandising with strong commercial awareness to deliver an outstanding shopping experience.

The Role

As Garden Features & Containers Department Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the department.

You'll lead your team to create inspirational displays, maintain exceptional merchandising standards and ensure customers receive expert, friendly service.

You'll also use sales data and commercial insight to maximise sales, manage stock effectively and ensure the department remains fresh, exciting and profitable throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the Garden Features & Containers team.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create an inspiring shopping experience.
• Drive sales, profitability and departmental performance.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, replenishment and stock control.
• Create eye-catching seasonal displays and visual merchandising.
• Maintain high standards of presentation throughout the department.
• Analyse sales reports and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Ensure accurate pricing and promotional activity.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to deliver new product launches.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping, health & safety and operational standards.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys combining commercial retail management with creativity and leadership.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous retail management or department management experience.
• Strong visual merchandising skills and an eye for presentation.
• Experience managing stock, sales and departmental budgets.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• A customer-first approach with outstanding communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to interpret sales data.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Experience within garden centres, DIY, home improvement, homewares, outdoor living or a similar retail environment would be highly advantageous.
