Outdoor Leisure & Christmas General Assistant (Temporary)- Grosvenor Garden Centre

Location: Grosvenor Garden Centre
Hours: 24 hours per week, including working every other weekend, with the alternate week consisting of 7 hours on Tuesday and 6.5 hours on Thursday.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Outdoor Leisure & Christmas Department on a temporary basis.

Working across two of our most popular departments, you'll play an important role in delivering an excellent shopping experience for our customers. From creating eye-catching displays and merchandising seasonal ranges to helping customers find the right products, this is a varied and rewarding role within a busy garden centre.

The Role

As a Temporary Outdoor Leisure & Christmas General Assistant, you'll help ensure the department is well stocked, beautifully presented, and maintained to the high standards our customers expect.

Working alongside the department team, you'll support with merchandising, stock replenishment, customer service, and the day-to-day running of the department, helping us through one of our busiest trading periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Create attractive and inspirational displays to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and shop floor presentation.
• Assist with the movement, assembly, and merchandising of furniture, barbecues, outdoor living products, and seasonal ranges.
• Provide carry-to-car service and assist with customer deliveries where required.
• Deliver excellent customer service and offer product advice.
• Process sales accurately using the EPOS system and handle customer enquiries professionally.
• Replenish stock and ensure products are correctly merchandised and priced.
• Print and display POS materials throughout the department.
• Follow action points from reports and departmental floor walks.
• Assist with stock takes and seasonal department changes.
• Support promotional events and busy seasonal trading periods.
• Work closely with colleagues to keep the department organised, safe, and commercially presented.
• Support the Department Manager with the day-to-day running of the department.

• Has good organisational skills and can prioritise tasks effectively.
• Previous retail experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
