Till Operator – Tunbridge Wells Garden Centre

Hours: 12 hours per week, including weekend working

We're looking for a Till Operator to join the team at Tunbridge Wells Garden Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys meeting people, delivering excellent customer service and being part of a friendly, fast-paced team.

As one of the first and last people our customers interact with, you'll play an important role in creating a positive shopping experience. From processing transactions efficiently to assisting with customer enquiries and promoting our loyalty scheme, you'll help ensure every customer leaves with a smile.

The Role

As a Till Operator, you'll provide a warm welcome to every customer while delivering efficient and accurate service at the tills.

You'll be responsible for processing purchases, handling payments, answering customer queries and promoting our loyalty scheme by explaining its benefits and helping customers sign up. You'll also support the wider team whenever needed to ensure the smooth running of the garden centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, efficient and professional customer service at the tills.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Promote the Blue Diamond loyalty scheme and assist customers with new registrations.
• Answer customer enquiries and provide helpful advice where appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised till area.
• Assist customers with carrying purchases to their vehicles when required.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide an excellent shopping experience.
• Support the wider garden centre team during busy trading periods.

You'll have:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Confidence engaging with customers.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
• The ability to work well as part of a team.
• Reliability and flexibility to work weekends.
• Previous retail or till experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
