Outdoor Leisure & Christmas Assistant- Grosvenor Garden Centre

Location: Grosvenor Garden Centre
Hours: 7.5 hours on Saturdays & 6 hours on Sundays

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Outdoor Leisure & Christmas Department.

Working across two of our most popular departments, you will play an important role in delivering an excellent shopping experience for our customers. From helping to create eye-catching displays and merchandising seasonal ranges to assisting customers with product advice and purchases, this is a varied and rewarding role within a busy garden centre environment.

The Role

This is a hands-on position within our Outdoor Leisure & Christmas Department. You will help ensure the department is fully stocked, well presented, and maintained to the high standards our customers expect.

You will support the team with merchandising, stock replenishment, customer service, and general day-to-day department duties, helping to create an attractive and welcoming shopping environment throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating visual and inspirational displays to help drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and shop floor presentation.
  • Assisting with the movement, assembly, and merchandising of furniture, barbecues, outdoor living products, and seasonal ranges.
  • Supporting carry-to-car service and assisting with customer deliveries when required.
  • Providing excellent customer service and product advice.
  • Processing sales accurately using the EPOS system and handling after-sales enquiries professionally.
  • Replenishing stock and ensuring products are correctly merchandised and priced.
  • Printing and displaying POS materials throughout the department.
  • Following action points from reports and departmental floor walks.
  • Assisting with stock takes and seasonal department changes.
  • Supporting promotional events and key trading periods throughout the year.
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure the department remains organised, safe, and commercially presented.
  • Supporting the Department Manager with the day-to-day operation of the department.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to a positive working environment.
  • Has a proactive, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high retail standards.
  • Has a keen eye for detail and product presentation.
  • Is comfortable undertaking physical tasks, including lifting and moving furniture and outdoor leisure products.
  • Is reliable, flexible, and willing to support the team during busy periods.
  • Has good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Previous retail experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
