Blue Diamond Garden Centres Wins Gold at RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Blue Diamond Garden Centres are celebrating a double achievement at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, having been awarded a Gold Medal for their immersive, walkthrough experience in the Grand Pavilion, Site 032. This success follows a day after being presented with the ‘Tree of the Show’ award for the stunning Acer palmatum 'Shishigashira'.

The award-winning exhibit featured plants grown by Blue Diamond’s own nurseries, many of which are readily available at their garden centres. It also showcased a collection of exclusive, never-before-seen plants, including two shortlisted for The Plant of the Year Award.

Alan Roper, Managing Director of Blue Diamond, shared his excitement:

"One needs a great team to enable a vision, and we are immensely proud and buzzing from winning our first Gold at Chelsea. The enjoyment we all receive from participating in this amazing, best in the World Flower Show is worth its weight in gold!"

In addition to the Gold Medal, Blue Diamond’s Acer palmatum 'Shishigashira', with its unique lion’s mane-like foliage, won the ‘Best Tree of the Show’ award. We hope visitors to our garden centres will be inspired to recreate some of the Chelsea magic in their own gardens with these exclusive plants.

Lighting the Way: 80 Years of Remembrance

On Wednesday evening, 23rd April 2025, Yom HaShoah UK hosted a powerful commemoration outside Parliament, marking 80 years since the end of the Holocaust and the liberation of Bergen-Belsen. The event brought together thousands, including survivors, refugees, dignitaries, and young people, to remember the past and vow to keep its memory alive.

A standout moment featured 300 candles glowing brightly as a 300-strong children's choir performed “Never Again,” creating a deeply moving tribute. Following this, 80 young people held candles to symbolise 80 years since the Holocaust’s end.

Blue Diamond proudly supported the event by donating the battery-operated candles, helping create one of the most visually striking moments of the commemoration. These candles illuminated the ceremony as it unfolded before the Houses of Parliament, honouring the last living witnesses and inspiring the next generation with light and hope.
