Mahonia 'Soft Caress'

Winner of "Plant of the Year" at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2013, this is the first Mahonia bread to have spine-free leaves, ideal for planting near to paths or doorway but it still gives eye catching structure to your garden. 'Soft Caress' is a compact, evergreen shrub, perfect for larger pots, where it will provide year-round interest. Highly scented flowers from Aug - Oct. Ideal for full sun to part shade.

The new foliage of this eye-catching little shrub appears each spring a lush yellowy green, but over time, takes on a richer lime green colour. This new fatsia grown for its handsome variegated foliage unlike its plain green family members. It makes a wonderful specimen, especially when paired with white-flowering plants that complement the leaf variegations. It can also be used to help add light and colour to areas of lightly dappled shade.

Fatsia Japonica is also in the garden displaying its lush green tropical leaves.

Phyllostachys nigra - Black Bamboo
