Elizabeth Ashbrook Rose

Royal National Institute of Blind People - The Elizabeth Ashbrook Rose

Launched by Fryer’s Roses, part of the Blue Diamond Group, this new and exclusive rose is named “Elizabeth Ashbrook” in memory of the late Elizabeth, Viscountess Ashbrook of Arley Hall, Cheshire, and the mother of the present Viscount Ashbrook.

The “Elizabeth Ashbrook” rose is a Floribunda which produces an abundance of soft pink blooms. This rose has a high fragrance and as such was awarded a silver medal at the Baden-Baden Rose Trials 2016 and a Certificate of Merit and Fragrance Prize in La Roeulx, Belgium in 2016.

With contrasting glossy green foliage and an excellent resistance to disease, this rose is ideal for planting in the ground or in containers to a height of approximately 100cm when fully grown. £1 from each rose sold through Blue Diamond and Fryer’s Roses online will be donated, at the request of the current Lord and Lady Ashbrook, to the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

Elizabeth, Lady Ashbrook, experienced almost total loss of sight in the last 10 years of her life and benefited greatly from the RNIB Talking Book scheme.

Greenfingers Charity - Friends Rose

Greenfingers Charity - Friends Rose

Greenfingers is a national charity dedicated to supporting children who spend time in hospices around the UK, along with their families, by creating inspiring gardens for them to relax in and benefit from. The charity creates beautiful, well-designed outdoor spaces for children to enjoy with their family, friends and siblings, whether through play and fun, or therapeutic rest and relaxation.

Greenfingers Charity is driven by the belief that time spent outdoors, away from the bedside, can offer children and families under considerable stress a vital opportunity to embrace the benefits of being in the fresh air and engaging with the natural environment. They are committed to creating specially designed, stimulating garden spaces that can bring many benefits to children with life-limiting conditions.
Whilst many people may take for granted the simple pleasure of being able to enjoy a garden, for these children, their siblings and their families, the chance to spend time together outdoors and away from the bedside is precious.

The Sarah Groves Foundation - Sarah Elizabeth Rose

The Sarah Groves Foundation - Sarah Elizabeth Rose

The Sarah Groves Foundation was formed at the end of 2013 in memory of Sarah Elizabeth Groves whose life was tragically cut short on board a houseboat on Dal Lake, Srinagar, Kashmir 6th April 2013

The Sarah Groves Foundation was registered in Guernsey as a not-for-profit, charitable trust with the aim of fulfilling Sarah's own ambition in life - to enhance the lives of young people, especially of those less fortunate than herself.

The Charity’s Mission Statement is quite simply ‘Enhancing young lives.

Using the key-words Children, Art, Fitness and Adventure, all of which featured heavily in Sarah’s own life, the Charity’s philosophy is to achieve their Mission Statement in two ways – both in the way they raise funds and in the way they distribute them.

On the fundraising side the Charity organises and supports life-changing initiatives in which they encourage people of all ages from all walks of life to take on challenges that they wouldn't normally consider or that wouldn't normally be available to them – often well outside of their comfort zones.

On the distribution side the Charity seeks to support activities that benefit children, especially within the realms of Art (in its broadest sense), Fitness and Adventure.

Action Reconciliation Service for Peace - Eirene Rose

Action Reconciliation Service for Peace - Eirene Rose

For over 50 years ARSP has been committed to working toward reconciliation and peace, as well as fighting racism, discrimination and social exclusion.

Today, these aims are continued and realised through the long-term international peace service program. This is known as peace service because, in co-operation with the charity’s partners, volunteers develop their understanding of history and other cultures and societies, whilst experiencing and accepting different patterns of thought and behaviour. Nowadays, due to generational change, ARSP volunteers do not act from a feeling of personal guilt, but rather from the conviction that they want to make a positive contribution toward a more peaceful, just and tolerant world. Every year around 180 volunteers, mostly aged between nineteen and twenty-five are active for ARSP in thirteen different countries on a variety of educational, historical, political and social projects.
