Customer Service Desk Assistant- Grosvenor Garden Centre

Location: Grosvenor Garden Centre
Hours: 15.25 hours per week, every Saturday and Sunday (for the right candidate, hours can be worked on either Saturday or Sunday only)

About the Role

Grosvenor Garden Centre is looking for a friendly and customer-focused Customer Service Desk Assistant to join our team. Working at the heart of the customer experience, you will be responsible for providing excellent service at the customer service desk, handling enquiries, processing refunds and exchanges, and ensuring every visitor receives a warm welcome.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Provide a friendly and professional service to all customers
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and requests efficiently and courteously
• Process refunds, exchanges, and gift card transactions in line with company procedures
• Assist customers with product and store information
• Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere at all times

Service Desk & Till Operations

• Operate tills accurately and efficiently
• Process customer purchases and payments
• Ensure all transactions are handled correctly and securely
• Help resolve till and customer service queries promptly
• Maintain a clean, organised, and professional customer service area

Administrative & Operational Support

• Assist with customer orders, collections, and reservations where required
• Support the wider retail team during busy periods
• Follow company policies and procedures at all times
• Maintain awareness of security and loss prevention procedures

About You

• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident handling customer enquiries and resolving issues
• Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
• Previous customer service or retail experience is desirable but not essential
