Group Relief Chef
Location: Based at a designated Blue Diamond Garden Centre, with travel to other centres as required.
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Group Relief Chef to support our restaurant teams across the Blue Diamond Garden Centre group.
You will be based at a designated home centre but will travel to other centres when required to provide cover for holidays, sickness, vacancies, busy trading periods, and new openings. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety and can quickly settle into different teams and kitchens while maintaining our high standards.
Flexibility is essential, as regular travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking food to Blue Diamond standards.
- Supporting restaurant teams across multiple centres when required.
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Ensuring food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen procedures are followed at all times.
- Assisting with stock control, stock rotation, and minimising waste.
- Working closely with Restaurant Managers and kitchen teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Supporting and guiding team members where needed.
- Helping maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally as Head Chef/Relief Chef/Rover Chef.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to support different teams and locations.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when business needs require.
