The Role

East Bridgford Garden & Home is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Visual Merchandiser to support our Christmas and Furniture departments.

As a Visual Merchandiser, you will play a key role in creating inspiring, commercially effective displays that enhance the customer shopping experience and maximise sales. You will help bring seasonal themes and product ranges to life through imaginative and engaging visual merchandising, with a particular focus on our Christmas and Furniture departments.

Working closely with department managers and the wider retail team, you will ensure displays remain fresh, inviting, and aligned with the highest visual standards throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Visual Merchandising & Display Creation

• Design, build, and maintain attractive visual displays across the Christmas and Furniture departments.
• Create engaging seasonal feature areas that inspire customers and encourage purchases.
• Ensure displays are visually appealing, well-stocked, and commercially effective.
• Implement seasonal themes, promotional activity, and merchandising plans in line with company standards.
• Support department changes and seasonal transitions throughout the year.

Commercial & Sales Support

• Work closely with management and department teams to maximise sales opportunities through effective product presentation.
• Analyse product performance and customer trends to support display decisions.
• Ensure key products, promotions, and new ranges are prominently featured.
• Use cross-merchandising techniques to encourage linked sales.

Store Standards

• Maintain exceptional visual standards across all display areas.
• Ensure pricing, signage, and point-of-sale materials are accurate, visible, and professionally presented.
• Monitor product presentation and replenishment to keep displays looking their best.
• Maintain merchandising equipment, props, fixtures, and display materials in good condition.

Team Support & Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with department teams to maintain display standards.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues on visual merchandising best practices.
• Assist with seasonal launches, events, and promotional campaigns.
• Respond promptly to changing business needs and merchandising priorities.

Industry Awareness

• Keep up to date with current trends in Christmas retailing, furniture, home décor, and visual merchandising.
• Bring fresh ideas and inspiration to help enhance the customer experience.

About You

• Previous visual merchandising experience within a retail environment is desirable.
• A strong eye for design, colour, detail, and presentation.
• Creative, organised, and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passionate about Christmas retail, home furnishings, and creating memorable shopping experiences.
• Flexible and willing to work weekends and peak seasonal periods as required.
