Till Operator- Mere Park Garden Centre

Mere Park Garden Centre is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Till Operator to join our weekend team. This customer-facing role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent service in a busy retail environment.

• Saturday: 11:00am – 5:30pm
• Sunday: 10:30am – 4:30pm
  Contract: 11.5 hours per week

About the role

As a Till Operator, you will play an important part in creating a welcoming and positive experience for our customers. You will be responsible for processing transactions accurately, assisting with customer enquiries, and helping maintain a smooth and efficient front-of-house operation during busy weekend trading periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating tills efficiently and accurately
• Processing cash, card, and contactless payments
• Providing friendly and professional customer service at all times
• Assisting customers with general enquiries and directing them where needed
• Processing refunds and exchanges in line with company procedures
• Helping maintain a clean, tidy, and organised checkout area
• Supporting colleagues and helping during busy periods when required
• Following cash handling and security procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
• Confident handling payments and working with tills
• A good communicator who works well as part of a team
• Well organised with good attention to detail

Previous retail or till experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
