Indoor Plants General Assistant- Cardiff Garden Centre

We are currently recruiting for an Indoor Plants General Assistant at our Cardiff Garden Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about houseplants, indoor gardening trends, and delivering exceptional customer service in a vibrant retail environment.

Position: Indoor Plants General Assistant
Location: Cardiff Garden Centre, 
Hours: 24 hours per week (flexible, including some weekends)

The Role

This is a hands-on position within our indoor plants department. You will assist customers in selecting and caring for houseplants, maintain exceptional visual merchandising standards, and ensure the department remains healthy, inspiring, and beautifully presented.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable advice to customers on indoor plants, plant care, potting solutions, and related products
• Maintain the presentation and health of the indoor plants department, including watering, feeding, pruning, cleaning foliage, and re-potting where required
• Create visually appealing plant displays that reflect current trends and seasonal styling
• Receive deliveries, check stock quality, and replenish displays efficiently
• Assist customers with plant selection and help carry/load purchases when needed
• Operate tills and handle transactions accurately (if required)
• Support colleagues across the department and wider centre as required

About You

• Passionate about indoor plants, houseplant care, and interior planting trends
• Able to deliver exceptional customer service with enthusiasm and confidence
• Knowledge of common indoor plant varieties and their care requirements is desirable
• Reliable, flexible team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
• Organised, with strong attention to detail and presentation standards
