We are delighted to be recruiting for a Pastry Chef to join our team at Canterbury Garden Centre.

We are looking for someone with a real passion for producing high-quality desserts, cakes, and patisserie items. This is a hands-on role working within a fast-paced kitchen environment. Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen is beneficial but not essential, as full training and support will be provided. A positive attitude, creativity, and pride in presentation are just as important.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Head Pastry Chef to ensure daily and seasonal business demands are met
• Produce a high-quality range of cakes, desserts, and patisserie items to an excellent standard
• Support menu development and contribute creative ideas where appropriate
• Assist with monthly stocktakes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
• Monitor stock levels, waste, and ordering requirements to maintain efficiency and control costs
• Maintain strict quality control, ensuring all ingredients and finished products meet business expectations
• Ensure the pastry section is clean, organised, and compliant with food hygiene standards at all times
• Support overall kitchen cleanliness and food safety procedures
