Plant Supervisor- Endsleigh Garden Centre

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, including alternate weekend working
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Plant Supervisor to support the smooth running and commercial success of our Seasonal Plants Department.

This is a hands-on retail role where you will help ensure the seasonal plant area is well-stocked, visually appealing, and commercially strong, while delivering excellent customer service. You will work closely with the Department Manager to maintain high standards across stock management, merchandising, and the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Stock & Merchandising

• Assist with ordering and maintaining seasonal plant stock levels
• Monitor availability and respond to seasonal changes in demand
• Manage stock rotation to ensure freshness and quality
• Identify slow-moving stock and take appropriate action
• Ensure accurate and well-presented POS displays
• Create attractive, seasonal, and inspirational plant displays to drive sales

Sales & Commercial Focus

• Review sales performance and support actions to improve results
• Use reports to identify seasonal trends and opportunities
• Help maximise sales and profitability within the department

Customer Service

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable advice on seasonal plants and gardening
• Assist customers with product selection and carry-to-car service
• Deliver an excellent customer experience at all times

Operational Standards

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and presentation across the plant area
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and retail standards
• Use EPOS systems accurately for sales and stock management

Team Support

• Help organise daily tasks and support team coordination
• Communicate updates and instructions clearly to colleagues
• Support training and development of team members where required

Deputising Duties

• Step in for the Department Manager during holidays or absence
• Escalate issues to senior management when necessary
• Support smooth day-to-day running of the department
