Weekend General Assistant - Yarnton Garden Centre

Location: Yarnton Garden Centre
Hours: Part-time, mainly Saturdays with potential additional weekday hours

About the Role

Yarnton Garden Centre is looking for two friendly and reliable Weekend General Assistants to join our team. This is a hands-on role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the garden centre, particularly at busy weekends.

You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks across the centre, helping to create a welcoming environment and ensuring customers receive great service every visit.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to all customers
• Assist customers with queries and product locations
• Ensure a positive shopping experience at all times

General Store Support
• Support stock replenishment and maintaining well-presented sales areas
• Keep the shop floor clean, tidy, and safe
• Assist with seasonal displays and merchandising
• Help with general housekeeping duties around the centre

Operational Support
• Assist with deliveries and unpacking stock when required
• Support different departments during busy periods
• Follow health & safety procedures at all times

About You

• Friendly, approachable, and willing to help
• Reliable and able to work well as part of a team
• Hard-working with a positive attitude
• Comfortable working in a busy retail environment
• Previous retail or garden centre experience is helpful but not essential
