Hours: Part-time, approx. 16 hours per week | Working days: Monday, Wednesday & Saturday

About the Role
Yarnton Garden Centre is looking for a motivated and hands-on Tills & Customer Service Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of our tills and service desk. You will help lead the team, deliver outstanding customer service, and ensure smooth and efficient front-of-house operations.
This is a key supervisory role where you will work closely with the management team to maintain high standards, support staff development, and ensure every customer enjoys a welcoming and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Team Support
• Supervise the tills and service desk team to deliver excellent customer service
• Support handling of customer queries, complaints, and refunds in a professional manner
• Lead by example on the shop floor, promoting a friendly and helpful approach
• Help coach and support team members to maintain high service standards
Operational Support
• Assist in creating weekly rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels
• Support scheduling during busy trading periods and seasonal peaks
• Help with onboarding and training of new team members
• Assist managers with absence tracking and basic performance management
Financial & Compliance Duties
• Support cash handling, banking, and till reconciliation processes
• Ensure accuracy in transactions and adherence to cash handling procedures
• Maintain awareness of security procedures and loss prevention practices
• Follow company policies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Tills & Service Desk Responsibilities
• Ensure tills are operated efficiently and accurately
• Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming customer service area
• Process refunds and exchanges in line with company policy
• Help resolve till-related issues quickly and effectively
About You
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused
• Confident working in a supervisory or team support role
• Organised with strong attention to detail
• A good communicator with a positive, proactive attitude
• Previous retail or garden centre experience is beneficial
