General Assistant – Sunday (Tills & Carry-Out)
Location: Barton Grange Garden Centre
Hours: Part-time, Sundays, 6 hours

Barton Grange Garden Centre is seeking a reliable and customer-focused General Assistant to work on Sundays. You will support the tills and help with carry-out duties, ensuring every customer enjoys a smooth and positive shopping experience.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys a varied, customer-facing position in a fast-paced retail environment.

About the Role

As a General Assistant, you will provide front-of-house support, working across tills and assisting customers with carry-out services. You will play an important role in maintaining operational efficiency and high customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional assistance
• Handle queries, purchases, and returns efficiently
• Assist customers with carry-out of purchases when needed
• Maintain a welcoming shopping environment

Till Operations

• Process cash, card, and other payment methods accurately
• Support queue management during busy periods
• Ensure the till area is clean, organised, and presentable

General Duties

• Support the wider team with store operations as required
• Follow company policies and procedures at all times
• Maintain awareness of security and loss prevention practices

• Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
