Position: Food Hall Manager

Location: Huntingdon Garden Centre, part of the Blue Diamond Group

Hours: Full-time, 42.5 hours per week, including alternate weekends

Salary: Competitive depending on experience

The Role:

We are seeking a commercially minded and passionate Food Hall Manager to lead our food hall department to new heights. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our food hall offering, from product selection and quality control to visual merchandising and team leadership. This is a unique opportunity to blend your retail expertise with a love of food and drink.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Profitability: Drive sales and maximise profitability through strategic planning, data analysis, and effective stock management.
  • Product Quality & Selection: Ensure all products meet the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation; oversee seasonal planning and supplier relationships.
  • Visual Merchandising: Design and implement inspiring displays that attract customers and create an aspirational shopping experience.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and train a high-performing team, ensuring outstanding customer service and a positive working environment.
  • Operations: Oversee daily department operations, ensuring high standards of housekeeping, health and safety compliance, and stock control.
  • Customer Engagement: Provide expert advice to customers on food and drink products, helping them make informed choices and discover new favourites.
  • Commercial Awareness: Monitor sales trends, recognise opportunities, and adapt merchandising and stock levels to maximise performance.

About You:

  • Proven experience in retail management, ideally with experience in food retail.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and forecast trends.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of inspiring a shared vision across your team and other departments.
  • A flair for creativity and attention to detail in merchandising, presentation, and visual displays.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to thrive in a fast-paced, varied environment.
  • A genuine passion for food and drink, paired with a customer-centric approach to retail.
