The Role:

As a Food Department General Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding food retail experience. You’ll help ensure our food hall is well-stocked, beautifully presented, and maintained to the highest standards.

This is a hands-on, varied role where your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and passion for food will shine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service to customers
• Assist customers with product recommendations and queries
• Ensure shelves and displays are fully stocked and attractively presented
• Support stock control, rotation, and date checking to maintain quality and freshness
• Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards at all times
• Assist with deliveries and replenishment of stock
• Support seasonal promotions, tastings, and in-store events
• Work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• Enthusiastic and customer-focused, with a passion for food and quality products
• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good attention to detail, especially around presentation and food standards
• Flexible, reliable, and able to work weekends
• Comfortable working in a busy retail environment
• Previous retail or food handling experience is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided
