Goods in General Assistant- Yarnton Garden Centre

Location: Yarnton Garden Centre, part of the Blue Diamond Group
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Goods In Assistant to join our team at Yarnton Garden Centre. This is a key role within our operations, ensuring deliveries are processed efficiently and the shop floor remains fully stocked with high-quality plants, garden products, and outdoor living items.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with unloading and processing deliveries safely and efficiently
• Inspect incoming stock to ensure it meets quality standards
• Accurately record stock using EPOS/stock control systems and manage delivery paperwork
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and yard area
• Support the Goods In Manager with stock control and supplier coordination
• Handle returns, discrepancies, and damaged goods appropriately
• Ensure stock is moved to the shop floor promptly to support sales

About You

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail stock role is desirable
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
• Positive, proactive, and hands-on approach to work
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Familiar with stock systems, handheld scanners, or willing to learn
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A team player with a flexible attitude
