Café Chef / Chef de Partie - Weybridge Garden Centre

Job Title: (40 Hours per Week)
Location: Weybridge Garden Centre
Reports To: Head Chef and Sous Chef

Overview
Weybridge Garden Centre is looking for a skilled and dependable Café Chef / Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. This role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the opportunity for overtime during peak trading periods. You will be instrumental in delivering fresh, high-quality dishes that define the traditional garden centre café experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of classic garden centre café dishes, including breakfasts, brunch items, light lunches, soups, sandwiches, and daily specials
  • Take ownership of your section, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely service
  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen
  • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety at all times
  • Adhere strictly to food hygiene and health and safety regulations (including HACCP)
  • Assist with stock management, ordering, and correct storage procedures
  • Control portions and minimise waste to support efficient kitchen operations
  • Contribute to menu ideas, seasonal offerings, and daily specials
  • Work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, ensuring the kitchen is service-ready
  • Remain calm, efficient, and professional during busy service periods

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Café Chef, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
  • Ability to manage a section independently while working as part of a team
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and busy periods
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to develop
