Pastry Chef- Yarnton Garden Centre

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Pastry Chef to join our team at Yarnton Home and Garden just outside Oxford, part of the Blue Diamond Group.

Working as a chef with Blue Diamond means not only will you enjoy an attractive salary, but you will also gain a far better work life balance as we have no evening work or split shifts. Some weekend work will be required to meet the demand of the business.

We are looking for a full time (40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days) that has a real passion for high quality desserts. Our ethos is to provide a point of difference and fantastic customer service. We are proud of what we have already achieved and we truly believe we are market leaders in garden centre restaurants.

Experience in a fast paced, high-volume kitchen and customer service skills are beneficial but not essential as all training is provided.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Works with the team to ensure the smooth running of the pastry department.

• Jobs can include but not limited to: Weighing of ingredients, making mixes, baking, portioning, finishing of products, correct storage and stock rotation, helping with monthly stocktakes, monitoring waste and ordering.

• Works in a clean and organised manner

• Displays a great can-do attitude and a willingness to learn and go above and beyond to exceed the customers expectations

• To make and produce a show stopping range of cakes, sweet treats and patisseries.
