Senior Till Operator- Weybridge Garden Centre
Weybridge Garden Centre is looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Till Operator to support our Tills & Customer Service Manager and ensure every customer enjoys an exceptional experience.
This is a key operational role combining hands-on till work with team support, helping to maintain high standards of customer service and operational efficiency. You will act as second-in-command, supporting and mentoring the till team while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week | Alternate weekend working required

About the Role:
As Senior Till Operator, you will support the Tills & Customer Service Manager in overseeing the till and service desk operations. You will assist in team leadership, mentor junior colleagues, and ensure every customer receives a seamless and positive experience. You will also handle transactions and help maintain operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Team Support
- Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient service to all customers.
- Handle customer queries, concerns, and refunds in line with company procedures.
- Support coaching and mentoring of junior till operators to maintain high service standards.
- Monitor customer interactions and help implement improvements to enhance the shopping experience.
Operational & Team Support
- Assist the Tills & Customer Service Manager with staffing, scheduling, and rota management.
- Step in to manage the till team during the manager’s absence or busy periods.
- Help oversee holiday planning, seasonal recruitment, and team onboarding.
- Support management of staff performance, absence, and adherence to company policies.
Financial & Compliance Duties
- Accurately process cash, card, and other payment methods.
- Assist with cash handling, banking, and reconciliation processes.
- Maintain vigilance around theft prevention, compliance, and security standards.
- Ensure the till and service desk area is clean, organised, and welcoming.
