An exciting opportunity has arisen for Catering Assistants to join the friendly and experienced team at the Greenhouse Kitchen Restaurant within Blackdown Garden Centre.

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals who take pride in delivering outstanding customer service and high-quality hospitality in a busy, welcoming environment.

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Zero-hour contracts available
Working Pattern: Fully flexible, including weekdays and weekends

About the Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in creating a positive and enjoyable dining experience for our customers. You’ll work closely with the wider restaurant team to maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation.

We pride ourselves on our homemade products and excellent customer service, so a friendly, motivated attitude is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Taking customer orders and processing payments using a till system

• Preparing hot and cold drinks to brand standards

• Delivering food and drinks to customers’ tables

• Clearing and resetting tables efficiently

• General cleaning duties within the restaurant

• Maintaining high levels of customer service and resolving queries professionally

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine passion for customer service

• Takes pride in a job well done

• Can work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Is attentive, friendly, and professional with customers and colleagues

• Has previous hospitality experience (preferred but not essential – full training will be provided)

• Is fully flexible with days and hours of work

Our business operates 7 days a week, with peak demand at weekends, so flexibility is essential.
