Working closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, this role mirrors the standards and responsibilities of a Chef de Partie, offering real ownership of a section and the opportunity to contribute to seasonal menu development.

The Role
As Chef, you will take responsibility for running your section efficiently and professionally, ensuring every plate reflects our commitment to freshness, flavour, and presentation.
You will contribute to a menu inspired by the seasons, using quality ingredients and delivering dishes that keep our customers returning time and again.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service

Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes to specification

Take ownership of a designated section during service

Maintain consistency in portion control and presentation

Contribute ideas for specials and menu development

Deliver efficient service during busy periods

Ensure all dishes meet allergen and dietary requirements
Kitchen Operations

Complete daily mise en place and ensure readiness for service

Monitor stock levels and communicate requirements

Support cost control and minimise waste

Assist across sections to maintain smooth kitchen operations
Food Safety & Compliance

Maintain high food hygiene and safety standards

Follow HACCP procedures and company policies

Ensure correct storage, labelling, and rotation of stock

Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe
Teamwork & Communication

Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams

Support junior team members where required

Communicate clearly with senior chefs

Maintain a positive and professional attitude
Person Specification
Essential
-
Experience in a professional kitchen at Commis or Chef de Partie level
-
Strong cooking skills with excellent attention to detail

Passion for fresh, quality food

Ability to work calmly under pressure

Good organisational skills

Sound knowledge of food hygiene and safety

Reliable, punctual, and team-focused
Desirable

Experience in café, restaurant, or garden centre dining

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Interest in seasonal British cuisine

Confidence in running a section independently
