We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Plants General Assistant (20 hours per week) to join our team at Springfields Garden Centre.

Plants General Assistant (Part-Time – 20 Hours)

Location: Springfields Garden Centre

Hours: 20 hours per week, including alternate weekend working

The Role

This is a hands-on and varied role within our plants department. You will play a key part in ensuring our plant area is well-stocked, beautifully presented, and that every customer receives knowledgeable and friendly service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing friendly and knowledgeable advice to customers on plant care and selection

• Watering, pruning, deadheading, and general plant maintenance

• Assisting with deliveries, checking stock, and replenishing displays

• Maintaining high standards of visual presentation across the plant area

• Helping customers transport and load plants into their vehicles

• Supporting the wider team across the centre when required

• Operating tills and handling transactions accurately (if required)

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine passion for plants and gardening

• Enjoys delivering excellent customer service

• Is proactive, reliable, and able to work as part of a team

• Is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Has good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Is flexible and able to work alternate weekends

Previous plant knowledge or retail experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate.
