Position: Senior Till & Customer Service Assistant
Location: Barton Grange Garden Centre – part of the Blue Diamond Group
Hours: 2 days per week, and alternate weekend working (hours to be discussed)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

The Role
We are looking for a professional, friendly, and motivated Senior Till & Customer Service Assistant to support the smooth and accurate running of our tills and customer service desk.
Working 2 days per week on a rota basis, including alternate weekends, you will help support the Till & Customer Service Manager and step into supervisory responsibilities when required — while remaining hands-on and customer-focused.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys responsibility, teamwork, and delivering high standards in a busy retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Team Leadership

Support the Till & Customer Service Manager in delivering outstanding customer service

Lead by example at the tills, ensuring a warm and professional customer experience

Handle customer queries and complaints confidently and empathetically
-
Assist with coaching and guiding team members
Operational & Financial Support
-
Ensure accurate till operation, cash handling, and refund processing
-
Support cash reconciliation and investigate discrepancies where required
-
Monitor till equipment and report faults promptly
-
Maintain high retail, security, and compliance standards
General Duties

Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient front-of-house environment

Support staffing needs during peak trading periods

Carry out additional reasonable duties to support the business
About You
You will ideally have previous retail till experience, with senior or supervisory responsibilities, and a genuine passion for customer service.
