Seasonal Plants Weekend Temp (General Assistant) – 16 Hours – Cardiff Garden Centre

We are recruiting for a Seasonal Plants Weekend Temp (General Assistant) to join our team at Cardiff Garden Centre, part of the Blue Diamond Group.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role supporting our busy Seasonal Plants department during our peak spring and early summer period. We’re looking for someone practical, enthusiastic, and ready to be part of a hardworking team.

Position: Seasonal Plants Weekend Temp (General Assistant)
Location: Cardiff Garden Centre, part of the Blue Diamond Group
Hours: 16 hours per week – Saturday 9:00am–6:00pm & Sunday 8:00am–5:00pm
Contract Dates: Saturday 14th March – Sunday 28th June

The Role:

This is a varied and physically active role within our Seasonal Plants (Garden Area) department, supporting the team during our busiest trading season.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service and plant advice where possible

• Watering, caring for, and maintaining high standards of plant quality

• Replenishing and merchandising seasonal plant displays

• Assisting customers with purchases, including lifting and carrying compost, pots, and plants

• Supporting deliveries and moving stock (manual handling required)

• Maintaining clean, safe, and well-presented outdoor areas

• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the centre

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Customer-focused with a positive, can-do attitude

• Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Comfortable with physical work and regular manual handling

• Reliable and able to commit to the full seasonal contract

• Available to work every Saturday and Sunday as specified

• A strong team player with a keen interest in plants or gardening (desirable but not essential)
