General Nursery Assistant

Location: Blue Diamond Bridgemere Nursery
Hours: Fulltime
Pay: Competitive depending on experience

Blue Diamond Bridgemere Nursery is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our busy horticultural team.

This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in plants and horticulture who is comfortable working at a fast pace in a structured nursery environment. The successful candidate will be happy carrying out hands-on tasks both outside and in our tunnel and glasshouse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the planting, potting, watering, and general care of plants

• Working on production lines, maintaining a high and consistent work rate while meeting quality standards

• Picking, labelling, and packing plant orders accurately and efficiently

• Supporting stock management

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation across the nursery

• Assisting with basic administrative and record-keeping tasks where required

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have a passion for gardening and horticulture, with some experience or strong interest in plant care

• Be physically fit and comfortable working on their feet all day in a repetitive production environment

• Be literate and numerate

• Enthusiastic, positive ‘can do ‘attitude

• The ability to follow and carry out instruction

• Good time management and attendance

• Be reliable, hardworking, and able to work efficiently under time pressure

• Have good communication skills

• Be organised, with strong attention to detail

• Be able to work well both independently and as part of a team

• Be happy working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
