An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Food Hall Deli Supervisor to join our team at East Bridgford Garden Centre.
Position: Food Hall Deli Supervisor
Location: East Bridgford Garden Centre, part of the Blue Diamond Group
Hours: Full-time, including alternate weekends
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
The Role:
As Food Hall Deli Supervisor, you will support the Food Hall Manager in bringing together all aspects of the department’s operation. You will play a key role in ensuring excellent standards, strong stock availability, and exceptional customer service, while helping to drive sales, profitability, and food safety compliance.
This is a hands-on, customer-focused role where you will have a real sense of ownership and empowerment, contributing to a unique and engaging retail experience.
Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Food Hall Manager in the day-to-day running of the Deli

Delivering outstanding customer service with a genuine passion for food

Maintaining exceptional standards of product presentation, visual merchandising, and cleanliness

Managing stock from entry to exit, including rotation, availability, and waste control

Identifying sales and profit opportunities and acting on them
-
Working closely with local and regional suppliers and identifying new producers to strengthen the Deli offer

Using EPOS systems and Excel reports to monitor performance and drive improvements

Leading, motivating, and developing the team alongside the Food Hall Manager

Communicating effectively with the wider store team

Ensuring compliance with food safety, health & safety, environmental, fire, and HR policies
About You:
Our ideal Food Hall Deli Supervisor will be enthusiastic, commercially aware, and detail-driven, with a strong interest in food retail.
Essential skills and qualities:

Experience in food retail, deli, catering, or a customer-focused retail environment

An energetic personality with the ability to engage and connect with our ABC1 customer demographic

A creative and entrepreneurial approach to food retailing

Strong attention to detail in standards, product placement, and visual presentation

Ability to recognise and act on sales and profit opportunities

Confident working closely with a manager and helping to develop a team

Good IT skills, including the use of Excel, Outlook, and EPOS systems

Strong communication skills with both team members and the wider store

A proactive approach to sourcing new local suppliers and exciting food products
