Position: Pastry Chef
Location: Grosvenor Garden Centre, part of the Blue Diamond Group.
Hours: Full-time 40 hours, including alternate weekends.
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.

The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Pastry Chef to manage all aspects of our pastry production. You will be responsible for creating a diverse range of high-quality cakes, scones, desserts, and other sweet treats daily for our busy restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production: Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts from scratch, ensuring consistently high standards.
- Creativity: Develop new and exciting recipes and menu items that align with seasonal produce and customer demand.
- Stock Management: Oversee ingredient orders, manage stock levels, minimise waste, and ensure proper rotation of fresh produce.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain impeccable standards of hygiene and food safety in the pastry section, adhering to all HACCAP regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure a seamless service operation.
- Quality Control: Ensure all finished products meet our high presentation and taste standards.
About You
You are passionate about baking, possess a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a busy kitchen environment. You understand that the cakes and desserts are often the highlight of a customer's visit and are dedicated to making them exceptional.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a restaurant, hotel, or high-quality cafe environment.
- Strong knowledge of various pastry techniques and baking methods.
- Creativity and flair for presentation.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, capable of working efficiently under pressure.
- A valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Flexibility to work weekends and occasional bank holidays as required by the business.
