Goods In Manager - situated at Nailsworth Garden Centre.

Are you a proactive, highly organised, and detail-oriented manager with a passion for efficiency? We are looking for an experienced Goods in Manager to lead our busy delivery area and warehouse team at our Nailsworth Garden Centre, Gloucestershire. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of all incoming stock, from seasonal plants to garden furniture, and will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for high-quality service.

Position: Goods In Manager

Location: Nailsworth Garden Centre, part of the Blue Diamond Group.

Hours: Full-time hours Monday - Friday.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.

The Role
This is a hands-on management position where you will be responsible for supervising the entire goods-in process. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the accurate receipt, inspection, and recording of all deliveries.
  • Prioritising incoming stock for processing in collaboration with department managers.
  • Managing all stock returns and outstanding credits with suppliers.
  • Leading, training, and motivating the goods-in team to maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and secure warehouse and yard, optimising storage space.
  • Troubleshooting any stock issues and implementing solutions to prevent future errors.
  • Upholding the highest health and safety standards across the goods-in area.
  • Working closely with the management team and other departments to ensure seamless operational flow.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a goods-in, warehouse, or similar logistics management role, preferably within a retail or garden centre environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to a fast-paced, seasonal retail environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
