The Role
Join Our Kitchen Team in a Beautiful Garden Setting!
Barton Grange Riverside Restaurant is now looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Commis Chef to join our friendly kitchen team. Our restaurant offers a fantastic, freshly prepared menu for our customers, focusing on delicious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef to develop their skills in a high-volume, dynamic environment with the added bonus of sociable daytime hours.
As a Commis Chef, you will work closely with our senior chefs and be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our busy kitchen. You will have the chance to learn and rotate across different sections, gaining valuable experience that is a perfect stepping stone for your culinary career.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
· Assisting with the preparation of fresh, high-quality ingredients, including vegetables, salads, and meats.
· Working with senior chefs to execute our menu standards and recipes.
· Ensuring your workstation is kept clean, organised, and hygienic at all times.
· Helping with stock rotation, checking deliveries, and managing waste.
· Maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in line with regulations.
· Working as part of a close-knit team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for food and a desire to learn and develop their culinary knowledge. We are looking for someone who is:
· A great team player with strong communication skills.
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure during busy periods.
· Organised and attentive to detail.
· Willing to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
· Knowledge of basic food hygiene is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
