Iris sibirica come in beautiful varieties. The upright petals often have a different colour than the drooping petals. This gives a nice colour contrast within one flower. Iris sibirica is a hardy perennial and grows well in the garden. The sword-shaped, grey-green leaves die off at the end of summer. In Winter, cover the plants with a layer of fallen leaves or some branches. Cut off all the leaves in the spring. Soon new shoots will appear above the ground.
