Often regarded as the earliest crocus to flower, these charming blooms can appear as early as late January in a sheltered or sunny garden. Native to the Balkan region and also known as Snow Crocus, these varieties produce smaller flowers than the Dutch Crocus (Crocus vernus) but make up for it with a greater number of blooms per bulb. Ideal for naturalising in grass or planting beneath trees and shrubs.
