Nature-Friendly Gardening Activities for Pre-school Children

eceee8

Come along to our fun, Little Acorns activity sessions - the perfect introduction to nature-friendly gardening for pre-school children.

We at Blue Diamond understand the importance of helping future generations care for our environment and nature through gardening.

During our workshops, we encourage children to explore the natural world through planting seeds, growing plants and nature-themed crafts. There are so many benefits to introducing your Little Acorn to gardening at an early age such as thinking about their environment and developing social skills as they have fun together.

It’s also the ideal way for children and guardians alike to make new friends!

Each Little Acorn session will have a theme; for example, birds, butterflies, fruit, veg and bees. It’s always extra fun if the children choose to dress in something associated with the theme too as long as it’s comfortable and practical. (This is not compulsory).

All craft materials are provided but sometimes we may ask you to bring in a large, plastic water bottle for the activity.

After the activity the children will wind down with a juice, biscuit and a story or song before you take your beautiful creation and some fun activity sheets home with you.

You will also receive an attendance card and each child will receive a special certificate after attending their 5th workshop.

Little Acorns sessions will be held fortnightly during weekdays (excluding bank holidays) 9:45am to 10:30am (on occasion may run over slightly depending on group size), in a designated area at six of our centres.
