The Role

As a Gardening General Assistant, you will be an important part of the team, helping ensure our customers enjoy a unique and memorable shopping experience. You will work closely with the Department Manager and wider team to maintain high standards of presentation and customer service.

This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail, enthusiasm, and initiative will make a real difference every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service to customers

• Assist with visual merchandising, creating inspiring and well-presented displays

• Maintain stock presentation and assist with replenishment as needed

• Ensure the department is tidy, safe, and visually appealing at all times

• Work independently and as part of a team, adapting to business needs

• Support seasonal events, promotions, and POS material as required

The Ideal Candidate

• Enthusiastic and customer-focused, with a passion for gardening

• Confident and able to work on your own initiative

• Flexible, positive, and reliable, with weekend availability

• Attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards

• Experience in retail or garden centre roles is desirable but not essential — full training is provided
