Redfields Garden Centre
About Redfields Garden Centre
On the 2nd June 2010, Redfields became the twelfth garden centre in the Blue Diamond Group.
Founded in Guernsey in 1904 as a Fruit Export Company, the Blue Diamond Group has grown to become the fourth largest garden centre retail group in the UK.
The company’s success is based on offering our customers aspirational environments in which to shop for the garden and home. We also take pride in sourcing unusual items and our commitment to this ‘point of difference’ is key to our achievements. We offer style, innovation and importantly a difference in factor for both your home and garden.
The Group has been recognised nationally with business and retail awards. Its Italianate Centre in Trentham was named Garden Centre of the Year and the more recent centre in Guernsey has been hailed as ‘the shape of things to come’ by the garden retail writers.
Blue Diamond now employs some 1,000 people in its 15 businesses and it gives me great pleasure to welcome Redfields team to the group.
Although changes at Redfields will be modest as first, the centre will undergo a total redevelopment over the next two years; timings of this will be announced on this website.
Improvements have been made to our ranges throughout the store, offering a much wider choice of products in all departments. Some of these improvements can already be seen in the garden furniture and outdoor living range, and in particular, our much enhanced horticultural offer and colourful display of seasonal bedding.
Prior to the involvement from Blue Diamond, Redfields was a true family business; founded in 1977 by father and son team Roy and Richard Jones. Shortly after the initial opening, Roy and Richard were joined by Roy’s daughter Ann and son in-law Malcolm Goater.
When the centre was opened, plants were grown directly on the site, as well as being sourced locally. Over the years the range of plants and gardening products has steadily expanded to meet the needs of our customers. You can get almost anything you need from us to help you develop, maintain, improve and make the best of your home and garden.
Redfields was founded with vision and continues to look ahead at the needs of its customers.
