More National Awards for Blue Diamond
The Garden Centre & Retail Awards 2006 took place on 22nd November at the London Marriott Hotel. Blue Diamond won Restaurant of the Year and finalist for Garden Centre of Year (over 5M) for Trentham Garden Centre. The awards are well deserved and congratulations to all involved.
Trentham Garden Centre, opened in September 2004, sits immediately adjacent to the recently magnificently restored Italian Gardens of Trentham on the outskirts of Stoke on Trent. The site attracts in excess of 2 million visitors a year.
The objective with Trentham Garden Centre was to design and operate a very large destination garden centre adopting an inspirational strategy reflecting the Italian flavour of the gardens. It was important that the catering offer be unique for a garden centre and should appeal to a broad spectrum of potential customers. Trentham Garden Centre offers something for all ages and is particularly proud that the special baby food menu is all organic.
Three quite separate restaurant experiences each with its own distinct character are offered to visitors:
Six Arches restaurant
The Six Arches restaurant (named after the six arches which are all that remain from the famous Trentham Ballroom) is a self service carvery restaurant. A wide range of freshly prepared baguettes is also always available and English breakfast a speciality in the mornings. Inside seating is provided for nearly 300 covers and on suitably sunny days there is an alfresco dining experience on the terrace overlooking the stunning Trentham Gardens.
Caffé Bello lounge
A premium coffee lounge with luxury leather soft furnishings and a relaxed atmosphere. A wide choice of coffees and teas from around the world are enhanced by a high class selection of in house produced patisseries.
Terrazzo del Giardino Italian restaurant
A table service Italian a La Carte dining pleasure. It is an oasis of calm in an atmosphere swathed in the aroma of fresh baked bread and herbs. The chefs tempt the pallet with an array of Italian dishes that include frequently changing specials. Pizza is freshly made and prepared using the special pizza oven; pizza’s are cooked publicly under the gaze of many admiring customers.
The culinary experience at Trentham is a reason in itself for coming to the garden centre and the centre has established a substantial base of customers from a wide variety of geographical locations who grace us them frequent return visits. Trentham dining is about high quality food, innovative restaurants and excellent service.
